Alternatively, customers can enter the keyword at the Gift Search and it will show the relevant floral arrangements and gift packages.

Strength

Noel has created many first amongst the industry including the 98-minutes Express floral and gifts delivery service. It provides island wide delivery service and there is a waiver of delivery charge if the purchase is above $50. For payment, Noel secures private information entered using a VeriSign SSL Certificate. Information exchanged with any address beginning with https is encrypted using SSL before transmission. The company is accredited under ConsumerTrust, which aims to encourage best business practices by merchants and to assist consumers in identifying merchants that they can trust. Under this accreditation, B2C businesses will receive both the Consumertrust trustmark and the government endorsed TrustSg seal, as it adheres to the Code of Practice set by COMMERCENET SINGAPORE LTD to promote good e-business practices.

Weaknesses

Noel does not accept American Express, Diner's Club and JCB for online orders and eNETS is only valid for Singapore orders only. The company charges a $2 surcharge per delivery from 1 Sept 2008 as there is a recent increase in fuel price, parking charges and the number of ERP gantries on the road. There is also wrong input of month in the enewsletter. When click on the “Live Gift Assistant” it is not available and requires the customer to leave them a message.

Critical Analysis Of The Site

Noel’s website is loaded with many information and pictures of their floral arrangements and gift packages. As such, it may take some time to load all the information. Some of the features like ePolls and LIVE Gift Assistant are not available for use. The enewsletter does not contain new and updated information of the company. Conflicting information is shown on the Order Policy page where it shows that the GST amount is 5% and waiver of delivery charges if the purchase is above $40. The current GST amount of 7% is correctly shown at the top of the main page and the waiver of delivery charges if the purchase is above $50 is shown when products are selected.

Although it is shown on the main page that the company charges a $2 surcharge per delivery from 1 Sept 2008, customers are reminder of this when they check out. Most significantly, this site has security measures like VeriSign SSL Certificate in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under their control. By accrediting under ConsumerTrust, shows that Noel wants to become a merchant that customers can trust. On the whole, customers can safely provide information when they order floral arrangements and gift packages from Noel online.
